Overnight Oats – By Love & Lemons

When starting your day, you can never go wrong with oats and, it could also serve as a cheeky snack at any time! With this recipe being incredibly flexible, it is guaranteed that you will find the combo that will tailor to your taste once you have your simple-to-make base.

Base Ingredients

Produce

  • ½ cup whole rolled oats
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • Pinch sea salt
  • ½ teaspoon maple syrup, plus more for serving

Dairy

  • ¼ cup whole milk Greek yogurt, optional
  • ⅔ cup unsweetened almond milk

Instructions

  • In a Mason jar or other lidded jar, place the oats, chia seeds, maple syrup, salt and Greek yogurt if using.
  • Add the almond milk and stir until the mixture is well combined and there are no clumps of chia seeds at the bottom of the jar. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  • In the morning, top with your desired toppings and serve with drizzles of maple syrup.

This simple recipe will only take you 10 – 15 minutes to assemble and can last for 5 days in the fridge. The use of almond milk ensures that it is inclusive to all lactose intolerant individuals, but, if you are not a fan your preferred milk can always replace it. This can also be done with maple syrup which can be replaced with honey – based on your preference. Feeling experimental?
